190 Skilled Nominated Visa

​

This visa lets you stay in Australia permanently. To apply for this visa you need to hold a substantive visa or a Bridging A, B or C.

​

You can add family in your application at the time of lodgment or you can include them before the decision of your visa.

​

You can apply for this visa inside or outside of Australia but you must not be in immigration clearance.

​

This visa is a points-based visa.

 

Eligibility:

​

• Have been invited to apply for this visa. You must meet the number of points to receive a successful invitation.

• Have been nominated for this visa by the Australian state or territory after you have been invited.

• You need to be under the age of 45

• You need to complete a suitable skills assessment suitable to your occupation which must be on the occupation list. The skills assessment is included at the time of application.

• Must have at least competent English (unless exempt)

189 Independent Visa

​

This visa is for those invited workers and New Zealand citizens who wish to live and work in Australia permanently.

​

Your eligibility depends on the stream.

​

Points Tested Stream 

​

This stream will allow workers who are invited to work and live anywhere in Australia permanently.

​

You must be able to meet the criteria below:

​

• Have been invited to apply for this visa. You must meet the number of points to receive a successful invitation.

• You need to be under the age of 45

• You need to complete a suitable skills assessment suitable to your occupation which must be on the occupation list. The skills assessment is included at the time of application.

• Must have at least competent English (unless exempt)

New Zealand Stream

​

Allows New Zealand Citizens who need to hold the 444 visa and have committed themselves to Australia for the last 5 years. They will be able to work and live permanently in Australia.

​

You must meet the following criteria:

​

• You need to meet the income for each of the 4 years before applying for this visa. Your notice of Assessment from each Financial year will show this amount. Your income for the four years must not be below the threshold.

• You must have lived in Australia for 5 years continuously before applying for this visa.

491 Skilled Work Regional Visa (Provisional)

​

This visa is for those skilled workers who intend to live and work in a regional area in Australia.

​

You can stay up to 5 years in Australia and then see your next visa eligibility.

​

To apply for permanent residency you will need to apply for the 191 Skilled Regional Visa which starts on 16 November 2022.

​

Eligibility:

​

• Have been invited to apply for this visa.

• You need to be under the age of 45

• You need to complete a suitable skills assessment suitable to your occupation which must be on the occupation list. The skills assessment is included at the time of application.

• Must have at least competent English (unless exempt). Family members who are applying with you must have functional English or pay the VAC 2 installment.
